The HUB is a division of the First United Methodist Church on Millersville University’s Campus. The goal of the HUB is to help serve the Millersville University students by minimizing campus hunger, to help build a sense of community, and to increase spirituality on the MU campus. The HUB supplies MU students with fully prepared meals twice, every week. Whether a student has a declining meal plan balance, or no meal plan at all, all students can stop by before or after classes and eat a free meal provided by the HUB. All of the HUB’s meals are freshly prepared and cost MU students no money at all. An infamous HUB meal that the students love is the French toast that they serve every Friday. The HUB’s french toast is so popular, the Hub renames every Friday “French Toast Friday”. The HUB also collects nonperishables to store in the campus cupboard. The campus cupboard located in the HUB accepts donations of any kind of nonperishable items. They then allow MU students to grocery shop in the cupboard and allow them take bags of nonperishable foods for free!

The HUB at Millersville University also aims to provide a source of community to the Millersville campus. The HUB is specially designed with 3 unique rooms that students can socialize, eat, and fellowship in. These rooms include: The HUB Café, The Think Tank, and the HUB Living Room. The HUB Cafe is a great place to grab a snack or coffee in between classes. The HUB café also hosts open mic nights open to the entire campus in its café too! Musicians of all sorts are able to participate in these open mic nights in the café, and are encouraged to bring their friends. The HUB’s “Think Tank” is designed for study sessions and doing homework. In the Think Tank’s unique fish bowl shape, students love to get their school work done and often see it as a change of scenery in some cases. Plus, the HUB’s living room allows students to destress and play video and board games. The HUB’s living room includes a variety of comfy seating and is a great place for students to socialize at. Lastly, the HUB includes its very own chapel! The HUB’s chapel allows students to have a place to pray, meditate, read and fellowship amongst each other. This chapel is open to all MU students. The chapel even stays open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and even includes its own outside prayer garden!

The HUB also aims to build leadership on MU’s campus. The HUB offers a variety of bible studies, mentor sessions, and leadership trainings to students that are interested. Students are encouraged to speak to one of the HUB’s missionaries and to join the different outreach programs that the HUB offers, so they can expand on their leadership skills and biblical knowledge.

The HUB has made a huge positive impact to the hunger and sense of community that takes place on the Millersville University campus. From serving French toast every Friday, giving out nonperishable food to those in need, and by providing safe and welcoming environments for the MU students, and to helping students expand their leadership skills, The HUB reflects a hand of provision and assistance to the entire MU campus.MU Students can stop by the HUB during its office hours, Monday through Thursday, 9:00am until 4:00pm, and 9:00am until 1:00pm for more information on the HUB.
